Tonight was the Annual Joint Miami County - Champaign County Shrine Club Stag Meeting at Bud Parsons Party Barn. It is always a good time and we had the entire line of officers present along with several Past Potentates. Champaign County announced they are just a few thousand dollars away from donations to the Shrine Hospitals totaling $700K in the 22 years they have been collecting aluminum cans for the Hospitals. This is a get together where is it not only fun but you really understand the passion most Shriner's have for raising money to help out our Hospitals. Many are not aware of the time and effort which is put into the can collection programs and as I've been told it is often a seven day a week, fifty-two week a year job. Now that is dedication. |
