On Sunday June 10th was the one parade during the year where it is not always about entertaining the public but rather more about connecting with members of our own fraternity, many who are very advanced in years. I met with several of our members who reside at the home who really were happy we were there as they don't get an opportunity to talk much with members of Antioch. If you stop and think about it, many of those at the home during their lifetime attended Masonic meetings every day, probably many went to thousands of meetings during their lifetime and then their situation changed and they could no longer live on their own and moved to the home. While the parade is short and many won't even remember we were there, still this is our opportunity to do something for our on members and their ladies and every time we participate in this parade we should remember that someday (sooner or later) each of us may be at the age where we need some extra help and hopefully there will be Shriners there to help make our lives just a little better.
