Today we had a myriad of events which the various Divan members attended. We had a non-Potes Call parade in which several units were participating, along with picnics for the Marching Patrol, Rovers and Miami County. I also went to Columbus today to attend an event which Aladdin was holding in which the Imperial Potentate was going to be present. And as for the rest of the weekend, we are also going to be attending picnics tomorrow in Warren County and for the Classics Cars. I'm getting tired just listing all the things over this weekend...oh and not to forget to mention the 50's Party from last night from which we are still recovering! But then I doubt anyone on the Divan would trade the fun we are having for anything.
Our Imperial Potentate Al Madsen continued to prove this evening that his is just one of the guys. While he maintained the dignity of the office of Imperial Potentate, he made sure he went through the whole room with his wife Jan to talk with everyone. He also tried to take the serving tongs tonight to help out with the serving on dinner. It is really great to see someone who is a true leader and enjoying so much what he is doing. I expect some big things before the end of his year from our Imperial Potentate. I should also mention that the folks at Aladdin were also very friendly and definitely made us feel welcome this evening.
