The weather is warming up and we are full force in to the parade season. Since many clubs/units hold picnics during the summer, you might consider this a good time to invite potential members down to your picnic and maybe if they have a good time they will consider joining. And remember if you invite someone to your event to spend time with them and introduce them to other members of your club/unit. It is tough when you don't know anyone (or just the one person who invited you) to make new friends when everyone else is busy talking among themselves.
And I can tell you the comment from one of the new members who joined in April...he indicated he was going to attend a few clubs/units before he decided which to join and as his criteria he was going to see who he thought was the most friendly. You only have one opportunity to make a first impression.
